Kentucky
Six brothers & sisters are planning a 50th Wedding Anniversary Party/Weekend (June-July)getaway for our parents who did a wonderful job raising all of us. We're looking for a Kentucky/Tennesse resort/lodge/corporate retreat that we'll provide the eligance that a 50th Anniversary deserves, while providing the amentities to host 14 adults and 13 grandchildren (Ages 3 to 16). We need 7 sleeping quarters (rooms/cabins) to sleep four to five people each, dining facilities to host a semi-formal dinner, and a pool/lake. A getaway weekend community would be perferred. The mountains are ok, but no back woods locations please.
Thanks in advance...Wolverine |
Any of the KY State Parks with a lake and a lodge would be a good choice. You can go on the KY state park website and search....you'll need to hurry...they all fill quickly in the summer

The Inn at Blackberry Farm? Not sure about the minimum age requirement as some inns do have them but your party is so large, it may not be an issue.
I think it would be lovely there. Is there a budget? |
GoTravel,
Get suggestion, but a little out of our league. Money is sort of an issue: $150-$200/Per night. Do you have any other suggestions. |
Have you checked into Barkley Lodsge or Ketucky Lake Lodsge? Both are on lakes with swimming, boating, etc.

We are planning a trip to California in May- San Fran to Yosemite then to Carmel. We are trying to decide if we would have time to drive to San Simeon first, from Yosemite, and then up to Carmel, or if we should skip San SImeon this trip and head straight to Monterey and Carmel from Yosemite. We will be leaving Yosemite on a Thursday morning and need to be back in San Francisco by Sunday. In MOnterey we would like to do the aquarium, Cannery Row, etc and we want to make sure we see Big Sur, etc. Would we have time to spend a night in San Simeon and still see the sights along Highway 1 and take in Monterey sights as well?
