Kennedy Space Center stress-free visit?
 

Our granddaughter (12) will be visiting us on St. Augustine Beach in March. She is very eager to visit the Space Center. We are in our late 70s, so would appreciate your advice on our visit. Is there a skip the line tour or something similar that we can take? Do you have any other advice/suggestions? Thank you.

It is not a big stressful trip. Drive 95 to 407 exit, space center is on 405 and then you don't deal with any traffic. Most people exit at 215, east to major intersection by Home depot which is 405 or Columbia Blvd. That is a straight shot to KSC. You just deal with a lot of idiots driving there. Stay in the right lane and you will be ok. Are you driving down and back on the same day? There are many nice hotels at exit 215. The Garden St exit is before the 215 exit and that is the road that goes to Playalinda beach and Cape Canaveral Seashore. Very pretty and a great National park. Enjoy and so nice she wants to do that with you.

Check the Kennedy Space Center website to see if your granddaughter's visit coincides with an "Astronaut Encounter". We did this a couple of weeks ago and it was fabulous. Your astronaut (ours had flown on 4 space shuttle flights) will walk you through the big exhibits, go on a bus tour with you to the launch pads and the astronaut beach house. You end up having a very nice catered luncheon. About 25 people on the tour.
