Kennedy Space Center/Cape Canaveral

Am thinking of a side trip to the Kennedy Space Center while in Orlando. There is not a launch scheduled when we will be there. Is it interesting to visit-has 9/11 limited what you can see, how much time should we plan for visiting, etc. Any wisdom? thanks.

We were there the first week of April.

Still interesting to see with added security.

The actual Visitors Center area is pretty lame (very space-campy). but it still has some interesting points. The interesting part is when they stick you on the bus to go to the actual sites.

If you have kids in your party, try to visit the space center on your first day.I enjoyed it very much, but it was a bit boring for the kids in comparison to SeaWorld, Universal, etc.
