Kennedy Space Center

Myself, my husband and our two adult sons are planning on going to the Kennedy Space Center this summer (all three of them are engineers and are really looking forward to this!) Kennedy Space Center offers three "Up-Close" tours (Launch Control Center, Cape Canaveral: Then and Now, and Explore) in addition to the general admission tour. Are these tours worth the extra money? Any opinions on which of these tours is best?

If you have come to visit then do all the tours. It is sort of sad out there right now not seeing anything on the launch pads. We did have a spacex rocket go up today but was a bit cloudy to see much. Where are you staying, Cape Canaveral or Cocoa Beach? If you are in Titusville go to Playalinda beach and you will see how close all the pads were to the ocean. Very beautiful ride through the Cape Canaveral seashore. Look for floating gators, wild pigs and beautiful birds.

Check out the nearby Astronaut's Hall of Fame and the "Missile Farm" - forget it's name - both on the road from Orlando to Cape Caneveral/Kennedy.

It is called the rocket garden.

Thanks for your replies. We are actually staying a week in Vero Beach and making a trip to Kennedy Space Center one day. The Kennedy website says we will only have time for one of the extra tours so I am trying to decide which one to do.
