Kenai - Seward Dining

Anyone have any restaurant / dining / food recommendations? Thanks!

I'm in Kenai, and it's middle of the road fare- we have some decent places, one being Paradisos, which features Greek, Italian and pizza. Your best bet might be our sister town in Soldotna, where all our visitors are fishing for king salmon in the famous Kenai River. They have a few nice places in the fishing lodges. As for Seward, I believe the Glacier Roadhouse has a good reputation, and a few near the boat harbor as well. Have a great time!

I don't know of a Glacier Roadhouse in Seward, but Glacier Brewhouse in Anchorage in wonderful! I also loved Ray's Waterfront in Seward - watched otters and seals frolicking in the harbor as we ate! The fresh halibut was the best I've ever eaten.

We also ate at a very long established locals type place that specialized in seafood but I can't remember the name of it!

In Seward, we ate at a beautiful Italian restaurant called Cristo's.
They are located by the Sealife Center and had wonderful food and reasonable prices.

There's another thread about this same topic somewhere. I suggest doing a search. Ray's in Seward is excellent.

Ray's is the best. :) I also like Exit Glacier salmon bake.

we thought ray's was a bit pricey at $20+ so we went to Northern Lights instead down the street about 300 feet - very good and inventive seafood dishes for a little less ($15-20).

Also, the Homestead in Homer off of east end road is great, as well as the Land's End on the spit (go to the lounge, same food/kitchen but cheaper)

It just occurred to me- for a really unforgettable meal, make the effort to get to the Double Musky in Girdwood. Get there early, as they unlock the door at exactly 4:30, and the Cajun inspired food is unbelievable, along with innovative salads, drinks and desserts. Go hungry, nearly ravenous, as the portions are huge. It has a fantastic rep amongst locals. We go there as often as possible, if the timing is right.

Another recommendation for Ray's in Seward.

We also went to Ray's and althogh it was good, it was very overpriced. My son ordered a hamburger off the kids menu and they gave him half a pretty small sized burger. He is not a big eater at all, but this was not enough to feed a fly. My husband ordered stuffed shrimp and the stuffing was merely dusted on, almost non-existant.We also ate at a place which was right next door to ray's,but I can't remember the name of it.It was also really good. We also ate lunch at the roadhouse cafe over at Seward Windsong and that was excellent.

Try the Salmon Bake. It is on the same road towards the Seward Windsong. They do not take reservations, but atmosphere was great and so was the food. The halibut was awesone. It was recomended to us by one of the local dog mushers. It seems to be a family run business. Not sure why I haven't seen it mentioned before.

It's mentioned above- Exit Glacier salmon bake. :)

BudgetQueen
You are certainly right my oversight.
I do suggest trying the Salmon Bake out. All four of us enjoyed our meal-2 adults and 2-children, something not always easy to accomplish.

Glad you liked it- it does deserve a second (and third) mention. :)
