Kelly's Island?
 

I'm planning a day trip to the Lake Erie Islands, possibly Kelly's in particular. We are mainly looking for interesting outdoor trails, and hiking areas. Would Kelly's or any of the other islands be enough to spend a day just exploring? And would we need a car, or bikes to see the most?

It has been years since we've done these Islands but we had a lot of fun on both Kelly's and Put-In-Bay. We rented bikes on one and golf carts on the other. Do not remember which was which. Put-In-Bay had the most to do at that time.

Kelly's Island seems more like a half day trip to me, but it definitely is the island to do the trails on. Put in Bay is on the island where you rent the golf carts or bikes and has tons of bars and restaurants and shops and hotels. Put in Bay is really neat, but Kelly's Island is more for nature lovers.

Thank you both for your advice. We're really kind of nature geeks, so I think Kelly's is the way to go, maybe we can hit Put-in-Bay if we run out of things to do and hike.

So we wound up hitting up Put-In-Bay, we thought about Kelly's but decided today was less nature more things to do.

Nice island and we talked about going back on another trip. We wound up walking everywhere we went, and my legs are sore, but it was great exercise for both of us.

Yes, I was already planning the trip and was hoping for some last minute advice, which was extremely useful, thank you so much!

So Kellys wasnt that great?

We actually haven't hit it yet, and we may hit it our next trip there. We ended up on Put-in-Bay for the first trip.
