Kayaking/SUP in the Pacific Northwest

If you had to choose a city for kayaking or SUP, which would you recommend?

Seattle
Portland
Vancouver
Victoria

Thanks!

Seattle: Lake Washington, Lake Union, Elliot Bay. Victoria would be my second choice, followed by Vancouver.

Google "SUP + Seattle" for lots of links.

I agree, Sesttle has a lot of options for you. Portland itself not at all. An hour east of there though is Hood River which has a lot of SUP but being on the river it can be tricky.

I have kayaked in Portland with Alder Creek Kayak. We used their gear and a guide. Kayaked on the Willamette River. Alder Creek provides several kayak excursions in the area.

My recommendation would be Bend Oregon. There are several mountains lakes in the area that provide great flat water kayaking and SUPing. There are also some rivers that are slow moving so many options.

What time of year are we talking about?

I live in Seattle and am only thinking that we have a very short season where it's actually warm/hot here if that makes any difference to you.

The Bend Oregon suggestion might make more sense than any of the cities you initially listed?

You've got rivers, lakes, and oceans here, so depends on whether you want serene or whitewater.
