kayaking in eastern N.C.

Can anyone steer me toward some nice flatwater paddling in eastern N.C. ? Rivers, swamps, salt marshes...?
Thanks!

Check out this website. My brother is a big kayaker (but highly unlikely to ever post on this board) and he confirms these are great suggestions. This gives you a wide choice for places to base.

This isn't much help probably, but there is a cypress swamp near Wilmington that is an interesting place to visit. Flat water, but watch out for cypress knees.

Also in eastern NC (North east) is Merchant's Mill Pond State Park. You can rent boats there.

cactus: Are you still going to Sedona in March?

Oops! I've been away from the board for a while. Thanks so much to all who replied.
To emd...no, actually I went to Sedona over the Christmas holidays. I arrived the day after the big flood. The weather that week was pretty awful. However, it did snow one day. I just can't describe how beautiful those red rocks are with a blanket of white draped over them. I'll be making a "spur of the moment" trip back to AZ the first week of March. The buzz on the desertusa.com message board is that the spring wildflowers are going to be fabulous this year.
