Kauai with family in December
We are planning a trip to Kauai with our kids (ages 12, 4, and 1 when we go)and my parents, can anyone offer suggestions for villa rentals? We are thinking the Hyatt or Princeville resort rooms may be just as expensive as renting a villa and we would have more room. Hope someone can recommend a website or company to contact.....

dc,
Can't help you with rentals but I know if you do a "text search" on Kauai a lot of Fine Fodor Friends have some great websites they have posted from time to time. BTW, you may be taking a chance with kids that young on Kauai in Decemeber because you never know when it may rain. I'd rec staying on the SoShore/Poipu in December. Mahalo, Kal |
Check into renting homes. They can be cheaper than staying in the Hyatt or at Princeville.

I saw some great cottages in Poipu on the road to Spouting Horn. Not sure what company has those. I think I saw a Grantham rental nearby.

Agree with the suggestion to stay in Po`ipu for a December vacation with kids. I love living on the north shore here, but our winters can be wet, surf is high most days, and we're typically 5-10 degrees cooler than Po`ipu area.
As for rental companies, Grantham Resorts does a great job focusing on the Po`ipu area, and Kaua`i Vacation Rentals (located in Lihu`e) is the "grand-daddy" of vacation rental companies on the island. You'll be amazed at the number (and variety) of vacation rental properties in the area. |
AuntiM, Any idea when they decided to have this year's "Taste of Kauai". June still?
I thought I heard the date was still up in the air and it may be a limited amount of tickets available??? That may be worth a suprise sneak over! |
