Kauai-where to stay

We are headed to Kauai in late May '06 and would like a condo with a washer and dryer. We were also hoping for one on the beach - oceanfront/ocean view. He has family in Kapaa, so Coconut Coast or Poipu are the two best options for location for us. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Kimberlou, Last June we spent nine incredible nights at the Prince Kuhio Condos (rented through Kauai Vacation Rentals---but you can see the owners website by typing in Prince Kuhio #211...Google it). It is not oceanfront but most of the units are ocean view and you can hear the waves crashing. The condo is beautifully stocked...we didn't want for a thing during our visit. There is a laundry room at the facility. It is very modern and clean. The pool at the facility is small, but it is just beautiful. We are going back next June and taking our three kids. I can't wait for them to experience Kauai.

kimberlou, I would check out the Kiahuna Plantation condos. Right on the beach ... and May is a great month to visit Poipu Kauai! I much prefer Poipu over the Coconut coast, despite the CC being more "central."

Sorry, I meant to say "great time to visit Kauai" ... and to delete the Poipu! :-)

Soon I'll be staying at the Wailua Bayview Condos in Kapaa (http://www.wailuabay.com/). Seems to have everything you're looking for.
