Kauai Restaurants/Interisland Air
Hi,

We are going to Kauai for the 8th time in May. It seems that we have to 'rescoop' the restaurant scene each time because they change management, chefs, etc. We are staying in Princeville. Would like to hear recent feedback on restaurants in that area or other parts of the island. We like all types and price ranges of food, as long as it's good!

Also, who has newer jets-Hawaiian or Aloha? I read this, but can't find article now.

Thank You,
Kendell

We were in Kauai in October and stayed in Princeville. We ate at Keoki's Paradise which was very good and Roy's which was outstanding one evening and just ok the other night. I would definately go to Keoki's for their frozen Mai Tai or Hula Pie

I second Kate's vote for Roy's. It was fabulous. This summer we are going to try A Pacific Cafe as well. We also enjoyed Cafe Coco in Kapa'a. The food is good, the setting is very pretty, and the antique store next door is fun. You have to brown bag your alcohol, though. We ate several lunches at Zelo's Beach House in Hanalei. Their grilled fish burger with artichoke hearts and bleu cheese is great, as is the mai tai called "the Iniki." Bon appetit!

Aloha, I would add Mema's and Hong Kong Cafe in Wailua behind the Old Sizzler.

Ditto on Pacific Cafe. We also like The Whaler Brew Pubs Sunday "Beer Brunch".
Good food, Beautiful view and all the fresh brewed beer you can drink. They are up on the point near the Marriott.

A new one opened up while I was there this past trip and we never made it up there but it's Cerf's and it's in Charo's old restaurant. Past Hanalei, almost to the end of the road on the no'shore. It was getting good reviews.

On the west side, the Waimea Brewing Co. puts out some decent food. Good place to stop after touring the Grand Canyon. Brickoven Pizza still gets it done, too.

Hamura's is still the best "Little Hole in the Wall" restaurant I've ever had saiman and teriaki sticks.

Still, nothing beats a Triple Bubba w/ cheese, Chili fries w/ onions at the Hanalei location of Bubba's Burgers.
But, the last time I checked Roy's and Keoki's are in Poipu and not Princeville. And, a BIG THUMBS UP for the Hula Pie at Keoki's !!!
Let us know if you found anything new.
Kal
