kauai polihale state park is it open
 

Hi i am getting conflicting reports if the park is open. I know it was closed to campers due to a water problem but we would just love to go there and sit on the beach. It is one of our favorite beaches and we were never there in the winter months just the summer.

I have not heard of it being closed and find it unlikely. Topping for others in the know.

Polihale in winter is a treat.....just watch from a distance!!!! Hopefully you will get to see some surfers like we did riding the BIGGGGGGG!!!!!!! Waves. And hopefully you will have a freshly graded road when you arrive, otherwise take it slow and watch out for the many potholes

thanks for the info, Kauai has so many nice beaches i'm sure we will find them. Hopefully we can go to polihale when we come back in the summer.

Yes, iamq, but I think it's only in the winter. ;)

The last time we were there, we had a Mustang and couldn't even make it out the road when it was bone dry.

Kauai........ahhhh....what a waste of your travel $'s. Why put yourself thru it?

You know you are going to have a grand time anyway whether you get to drive out to Polihale or not.

And, just how do you get to stay on an endlessvacation?????

Kauai in 41 days. YEAH...

Did you have any problems driving down the road and were the bathrooms open. We have been there a few times before and didn't have any rpoblems with a regular car which we hav again. Please let me know asap as we have to end our endless vacation tomorrow.
