Kauai Pics from May Trip - belated

Being busy and traveling with work, I never got around to writing a trip report.

We spent two weeks in Princeville at The Cliffs. This was our 26th trip back to Kauai. Had friends with us from Colorado and Seattle.

I did want to share some of my pics as I used an underwater camera for the first time for snorkeling. Most of the snorkeling was from Tunnels with one day at Kee.

Hope you can view. Here are the links

Really enjoyed reliving our trip to Kauai with your photos. We stayed at Hanalei Bay Resort, close to you, did the ATV trip and had an anniversary dinner at Gaylords.

Didn't get to snorkel at Kee; went on Memorial Day and, duh, parking lot full.

Thanks.

China_cat,
I used a Canon Powershot D10. About $200 or less. It is very very easy to use. Actually, I mainly cropped some pics and add some lighting where needed. No color correction at all.

rncheryl,
I arrived at Kee about 7 am to snorkel, so crowds were not an issue when I was there, but I know what you mean. We usually stay away from there and just hang out at Tunnels.

Gaylord is not anymore. They were going to redo the restaurant and rename it somethign trendy. I hope they keep the plantaion open courtyard atmosphere, or they have lost me. I can get trendy in NYC.

Did I see glimpses of our tree, our beach and our beach chairs? I think I did. Good pics and it looked like you guys had a great time.

iamq,
Hey buddy, how goes it. Yes, the tree and chairs are still active. Funny, the tree and chairs never change, but I keep getting grayer and fatter. My wife is already pricing flights for next May when we return again to that chicken infested, mosquito breeding ground hell hole.

We just did an Alaskan cruise in August.

I posted it on here also with a ton of pics.

Hope all is well with you and Martin. Maybe someday our schedules will match up again and we can share a Mai Tai and Pupu's again.

Travel well
Rich

Loved the pix! Looks like a great trip. Loved the albatross chick! The underwater shots are fantastic. Thanks for posting.

The Ke'e Beach parking lot is ALWAYS crowded by 8:30am or 9am -- but I usually park down the road.

26 trips??? I'm doing my best to catch up -- but you've got quite a bit of a lead on me! Just locked in my tix for January with FF miles!!!

Hi Rich,

Glad to hear you're keeping our place! Unfortunately I understand fatter and grayer and unfortunately we have no immediate plans for Kauai. Maui in February and Italy in June and then it is anybody's guess.

Good to hear from you!

Is Gaylords closed? They were so accommodating to us, and the food was good. Is tourism back to normal levels yet? Know many places must be hurting. Thanks for doing your patriotic duty Rich to keep Kauai Kauai.

rncheryl,
The restaurant underwent some changes including a new name. It is called 22 North. I have heard some good things about the new set up. I am not sure if tourism is back to where it was, but when I was there in May there were average travelers just about everywhere we went.
