I'm a big Maui fan, but I agree with volcanogirl. The beauty on Kauai is breathtaking.

Kauai, Kauai and more Kauai

Kauai dry?! Must not have been the same island I visited. :)

We've been to both Maui and Kauai twice. I'll be honest, our first trip to Kauai left a lot to be desired - we stayed at a condo that I would never recommend to anyone and it rained nearly every day. That said, looking back at our pictures all I see was a fabulous time. Our second trip to Kauai - August 2008 - was absolutely breathtaking and I wanted to move there ASAP. Mind you, this was after having returned to Maui in February 2007, so I had a somewhat recent comparison to give. Maui is beautiful, but it's only one island. Personally, I'd feel bereft if I only went there and didn't visit Kauai and the Big Island.
