Kauai - Northshore weather end of June/July
Trying to decide where to stay for first week in July - Hyatt or rent a condo in Princeville area. Love low key - but worried about clouds and rain up north every day. Any thoughts?!

Okay...as a resident of the north shore I've gotta remind Fodorites that the reason everyone loves our area is because it's so lush and green and tropical.
Without the rain, it would be Kekaha! 8-) If we're lucky, we get rain every 24 hours (usually at night)...and are thankful to have the abundant blessing of that water. Once in awhile, we'll have rain all day -- and we're glad to get that, too. Vacationing on the north shore and get the "gift" of one of those rainy days? No worries -- jump in your car and head to another part of our beautiful island. BTW -- yesterday Po`ipu got rain; north shore did not. Life's a gamble! :-D |
That time of year I would definitely head to the north shore. Of course we love the north shore so much that we're going there in December.

I love listening to the rain come roaring down at nighttime or very early in the morning on Kaua'i. Sometimes I'll get out of bed and sit outside under the lanai, sit and listen. I am in awe of the weather patterns on that island.
