Kauai - north shore beaches - chairs

Hello. Does anyone know if there are any lounge chairs available on the beaches (hanelei, kee, tunnels, anini)? Either free or for rent?

I have never seen any "public" lounge chairs anywhere on any Kauai beaches.
You can rent beach chairs at some places that rent snorkel gear.

We bought some at Wal Mart for $12 each and left them with friends.

We bought two beach chairs at K-mart for ten dollars apiece. We left them at the condo for the next people to use.

g'lou,

Funny...yeah, those chairs are probably still where we left them. I'll give you her address and you can do a drive by and sneak them out of the rafters of her carport! :-S

katolb90:
Kayak Kauai in Hanalei rents all types of water/surf/kayak/beach gear -- daily or weekly:
http://www.kayakkauai.com

We who live on Kaua`i would much prefer that vistors to our island rent and return these kinds of items, rather than purchasing and then discarding them -- and clogging our already-overburdened disposal site.

Recyle, whenever possible, 'kay? ((Y))

Thanks all. Where are Walmart and Kmart?

gyppielou Jun 7th, 2005 01:11 PM

Ouch!!!

Auntie, perhaps we should set up a fodors community beach chairs program, passed on from fodorite to fodorite.... although sadly the rental is $16 a week compared to Walmart $12. I'd imagine the rental is a much more comfortable, quality chair! Well worth keeping landfills open for more important things!

Luckily the house we are renting has beach chairs, but we will rent them if for some reason we need to.

Gotta protect and save that gorgeous rainy, buggy, boring place!
