Kauai - need restaurant location for 60-70 people with great food and wine!

Hi guys

Any suggestions on where to have a party (preferably on the water) to accommodate 60-70 people in Kauai? I tried the beach house restaurant but the prices were ridiculous! We're looking for a restaurant with great food and wine, and the ability to play an iPod...

Any ideas???

Thanks!

Did a quick google search and found this, might be worth looking into:

You can try this site:

http://www.kauaimenu.com/

On the left side menu:

Click on:

Kauai north Shore Restaurants (also East Shore & South/West Shore)

Kauai Dining Specialties
Scroll down to Wedding/Receptions

You may want to check with the Hyatt or even Duke's.

HukiLauuuuuu...

I'd say Kauai Pasta but it may not hold 60-70 people.

Check with Mediterrean Gourmet in Haena. When we were there last year, they were having a wedding reception in a room next to the main room. There were at least 50 people there.

Aloha from Princeville...

I gotta add my 2 cents. Even though I _love_ Mediterranean Gourmet and dine their often, for a party of this size I'd urge you to call Hukilau Lanai in Kapa`a:
http://www.hukilaukauai.com/

Truly great menu and wine list, plus it's centrally located, and has ample parking for a crowd.

It's not on the water, but close -- and the food and drink will MORE than make up for the lack of nearby beach!

Aloha from Princeville...

Big thumbs UP for Gaylord's...especially good when a big group like yours can book their private dining room, with its beautiful antique furnishings!

Gyppielou -- give me a song title or singer, and I'll play it for you on my show tomorrow! 8-)

Kal -- Hukilau got new ownership earlier this year...kept all the cooks and the great menu, too.

Sherri1 -- yes, Mema's Thai is still open.

Harfy -- let us know how the dinner party went, 'kay?

gyppielou:

The award-winning island musician, Del Beazley, did a great "cover" of this song -- so I'll play his version on my show today. It's from this CD:
http://www.mele.com/music/artist/del...got+to+choose/

And the show is broadcast online live, too -- 7-9am HST Wednesdays and Fridays -- on KKCR Kaua`i Community Radio:
http://www.kkcr.org

Tune in, if you can! 8-)

Contact the local "DMC" Destination Management Company. Any hotel can give you a recommendation. They specialize in finding this sort of request for corporate meetings - they should be "up" on all the best on the island.
