Kauai Marriott Resort

OK, I thought I had Kauai planned with the Sheraton. Not sure now due to the renovations. So how about the Marriott? Can't find any recent reports here on it.
Thanks, Karen

There are two Marriotts on Kauai. One is the Marriott Waiohai Beach Club at Poipu Beach. The other is the Kauai Marriott Resort at Kalapaki Beach in Lihue. Both are very nice time share resorts with short term rentals available. Check each website to see which seems more appealing to you. IMO, the one at Kalapaki Beach has a better pool, better hot tubs, and a better beach.

Hi,

I own a timeshare at the Marriott Kauai Vacation Club in Lihue and Bob, about half the rooms are also hotel rooms, they are not all timeshares. Although if you can get a timeshare unit they are very spacious and have a small kitchenette. The rooms were redecorated very recently and the service is very nice. The pool is beautiful and the beach is usually fairly calm although it is on a bay and not the open ocean although the ocean entrance is fairly close. There are 3-4 restaurants on the property and a fair amount of others within walking distance. Will be going back in September.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Just returned from the Marriott in Lihue. It is very large (takes a long time to get to your room, lots of bends and turns to get there)the room was very nice however; there is a nice large pool but only goes to 4 feet deep, beach that faces Kalapaki Beach but the hotel does not have a great Day Spa...I was greatly disappointed - no atmosphere, no showers (well they had one but if someone was using it (unisex) you were out of luck.) I stayed there for 1 night (close to the airport) but do not think I would return. You even had to pay if you parked your own car - that is a bit much I think! One good thing...It is very close to the Burger Hut which has great hamburgers. The Marriott in Poipu appears to be much nicer from what I could see from the beach and walking through it....
