Kauai in February?
Will I encounter a lot of rain if I go to Hawaii in February?
|
Winter months in Hawaii are the rainy months. In February on Kauai I would stay on the south shore. The north shore is more rainy even in the summer so even though I've never been in the winter I would image it would be even wetter in the winter.

But, the answer is really....you never know. Lots of people go in winter and have a great time. Have fun.

I went to Kauai in February and had a blast. We stayed at the Princeville on the north shore but were just prepared to drive around if it rained. It probably rained for a short period of time on 4 of the 8 days but we used those days to go to Waimea, etc... Except the day we chose to go horseback riding when of course it poured. It was still really fun and I would much rather be in Kauai in February with rain then in Chicago in Feburary! So, the answer is yes, you might but with a positive attitude and the willingness to be flexible with your plans, you can still have an incredible time. Have fun!

Our advice is NOT to visit Kauai in the winter months. We LOVE the island BUT after 5 visits, the only time we have had good weather was in the Summer. Too much rain, cloudiness, and the temperature was just not warm enough in the winter. That being said, I know there are plenty of you out there who have gone in the winter and not had problems. But, our experience has been different. Good Luck !!

What about November? That seems to be the only time we can get away. Has the rainy winter started by then?
