my husband & I will be on Kauai from 5/18/02 thru 5/21/02 - don't know where to stay that is nice & reasonable - PLEASE HELP!! Any comments on the Kauai Coconut Beach Resort!?!

you can do a search, you know you will be there at the tail end of the rainy season. People have described that place as small rooms and dark hallways, big deal savings are fine. I think I would stay closer to the canyon that time of year but I am a hiker. Just think you are driving distance from everything there.

always want to ask if you are in front of a swimming beach

We've been to Kauai twice. Stayed at the Marriott and the Holiday Inn Sunspree. For nice & reasonable, you can't go wrong with the Holiday Inn. It was clean, centrally located, and was right on a swimmable beach. With our AAA discount, I think we paid less than $125/night!

the coconut beach resort is not a nice
property. it is an old building and
the rooms are musty. my roommate and i
tried several different rooms,but they
were all musty. our shower curtain had
mold. try the marriott or holiday inn.
good luck

I love that Marriott have wonderful memories of swimming at night around that giant pool. Thing is Holiday inn is probably closer in cost to Coconut beach resort

I would recommend going to either the Marriot or the Hyatt. Both are beautiful properties, but reasonable compared to others on that island.
