iceeu2, thank you for sharing your photos. Where were these taken (what park, hotel, condo???) Who lives on Kauai and who was just visiting? It looks like a blast, and I haven't seen Kauai for SO LONG! :-( Glad you all had a wonderful time! :-)

bonniebroad, we did have a blast!
AuntieMaria and Bob live on Kauai and taught us how to eat sushi, mix the wasabi mustard and soy, and follow with the ginger! I thought I had been eating radishes all week..oops! Bob taught us how to eat lychees! Just look at his shirt in one of the photos. Budman and the Mrs. live in NJ. We live in North GA..my hubby is the Wolfpack alum, but we ran into your people all of the time! The GTG was held at Pono Kai, a timeshare in Kapaa. It's been there quite a while and the gardens are just beautiful. Units are spacious and very clean. Margot, I met Juny and purchased some great pieces from him. You really appreciate his work when you see the size of his hands, don't you? Such a nice person and his wife gave me a bouquet of gardenias from her garden. They smelled so wonderful. Will post a short trip report and some more photos soon. I caught the aloha spirit on Kauai!!! |
((R)) Aloha i2! So glad you connected up with Juny - HEY...I sure as hell didn't get any gardenias! :( Anyhow, you're right about the size of his hands in terms of the precise work he does with those pieces - what did you buy??? Mahalo again for the photos!

The photos are precious! Obviously a good time was had by all. Lots of wine, Hawaiin fruit and good friends. What a perfect combination.

Looks like we missed a great get together and we're sorry we didn't get to meet any of you (don't ever ask me for road directions) :-)
We are still on the island and the weather has been wonderful.....we hope to meet all of you at another Kauai or ?? get together. Corina |
Just got back. What a fun time we had at the Kauai GTG!!! Thanks for posting the photos. Enjoyed meeting you all and sorry others couldn't make it. I'm ready to do it again.
