Kauai Float Trip?

Has anyone been on the Mtn. Tubing Adventure (offered by Kauai Backcountry Adventures) down the old irrigation canals? We are interested in going and wondered if anyone had comments on how they liked it?

I am going on the 'tube tour' next week, I will post my report afterwards!

Yes, I would recommend this trip--it's a lot of fun! The "rafters" each get their own big innertube and float several miles down the old irrigation ditches, some of it is in pitch black tunnels (headlamps on helmets light the way.) It is an easy trip but feels like an adventure, there are minimal "rapids" but it is still exciting as the innertubes have a mind of their own and there is lots of bumping and spinning. It is very organized, supervised, and there is a great lunch included by a scenic swimming hole. This trip does not reaquire physical fitness, there were lots of older people (70's) in our group.

sounds like fun!

Vivi - what part of the island do you start and end this tubing adventure? What is the cost?

It starts and ends in Hanamaulu (about 2 miles north of Lihue.)

It costs 85 per person, includes picnic.
