Kauai Breakfast
 

Me again,
Do not plan on doing too much cooking on this trip (hopefully none!) Any breakfast suggestions. We are staying at Kauai Beach Villas and we will drive almost anywhere for a good meal. And, although the topic is breakfast, lunch and dinner suggestions more than welcome.

Kountry Kitchen in Kapaa. Hands down best breakfast on kauai!

Eggberts restaurant for Bkfst.

B'fasts:
Upstairs at The Olympic Cafe in Kapaa.

Kihuna Joe's or "Joe's on the Green" at Kiahuna Golf Course in Poipu.

Dani's in Lihue.

Kalapaki Beach Hut in Kalapaki.

I'd say Oki Diner but I don't wanna give AuntieM the runz! :-"

And speaking of AuntieM, I'd tell you about The Wake Up Cafe in Hanalei before an early morning NaPali hike but we want to keep it a sceret. ;)

And while you're cruising around the island, keep your radio tuned to to KKCR radio for a rather eclectic playlist.

You're not to far from The Whole Enchilada right near Kintaro's, across from Mema's. Good lunch. BYOB if you want.

If The Whaler Brew Pub is still open, at least go up and have a beer there and watch a sunset or the cruise ships pull in and out of port.

Joe's on The Green, Poipu, eat outside with a pleasant view. Food's fine too.

Great view also from Bali Hai at Hanalei Bay Resort, ditto Princeville Hotel.

Do any or all of these places offer Portuguese sausage (linguica or chourico) with breakfast?

I think all the restaurants on Kauai serve Port/sausage and/or linguica.

I sure do agree with koa on the Kountry Kitchen. That place is great to relax and try out some local-style breakfast grinds (banana mac nut pancakes w/ coconut syrupmmmmmmm..). Also, it is in a funky little row of shops on the outskirts of kapa'a. After breakfast, i recommend a little walk across the street. There is a pedestrian bridge over the stream where local folks seem to like to throw a line in the water. This is a really nice place for a gentle stroll. Not much shade at dat, though, so protect yerself.

A great supper place in the kapa'a area is Kintaro. This place has the most heavenly sushi (i am in the cali bay area and pretty fussy,too). There is also a teppan-yaki option (like local-style benihana). My hubbie and i have been there so many times and just love the place. Our 1.5 year old loves it, too. Lots to look at and many smiling faces. Make early reservations as this place is hopping..

Aloha tpoid3 ((r)) - for breakfast, I'd also suggest Ono Family Restaurant in Kapa'a, and for a reasonable Italian dinner, Kauai Pasta in Kapa'a is also excellent, although they are very popular and don't take reservations - however, you can order to take out from there. Another good breakfast place, although looks like a big sterile cafeteria, is Tip Top Cafe in Lihue. Have a great time!
