Kauai B&B
 

Can anyone recommend a b&b or Inn with good breakfast place nearby in a beautiful, lush, quite area on the northeast side of Kauai? We will be staying 3 nights in Feb 09 and would like to stay around $150.00 per night. I have found two on the north side and would really like to stay there as I understand it is gorgeous and seems to offer what we want but I am afraid it might be too long a drive to other places we want to visit. IE: Waimea Canyon

Help please. I've spent the majority of this afternoon looking at places on the north side and east side. I've noticed on the north side, where all the lush vegetation is located, and lovely, lovely, lovely, so many have nets around the bed. Is there a problem here with bugs?

Also, a central place to stay is Kapaa and is affordable. What are your feelings about staying in this location?

I can't personally recommend any b&bs because we stay in rental homes while on island, but I have read positive remarks here of a place called Bed of Roses in Kapa'a in a couple of trip reports a few years ago.

If the place you stay at has functioning screens on the windows and doors you will probably not need a mosquito net.

jamg, That would be great, it is only $65.00! But that makes me nervous. Who do you rent from?

Both are in Hanalei. I can recommend both. The first one does not have the atmosphere not charm that the second one has. The second also has a killer covered lanai with a nice outlook and daybed. The first one lacks any real lanai area. Both are in good locations and are a short walk away from the beach and beautiful, downtown Hanalei for food and drinks.


If you start down the vacation rental path, vrbo.com has many listings or you can google, google, google.

That should read "nor" instead of not.

Thanks jamq. I have spent hrs on VRBO and I have googled, googled,googled. So in the north, you have not had trouble with bugs? Thanks for your suggestions.

really enjoyed our stay there and the location. Devaki is a very good hostess and her vacation rental is very well set up for 2.

it is a long drive to Waimea Canyon and if you only have 3 days you may just want to stay on the north shore there is enough to do there for 3 days and save Waimea for your next visit.

Thanks joeyi, that's looks wonderful but I think we want to stay on the northeast side in order to take a day to drive to Waimea, maybe not, maybe we'll change our minds so thank you. jamg recommended it also, so it must be a very good b&b.

it's not a B&B but a vacation rental. i am sure you will find a nice place to stay and enjoy your visit to Kauai.
