Kauai Airport Taxis
 

Are there many taxis serving arrivals at Kauai's airport in Lihue? Sister arrives day before rest of family and is not renting a car. Would she have to wait long for a taxi? Shuttle service has told her it will take 1.5 hours to get to the hotel in Poipu but nothing on the website that says it's a shared ride. Shuttle is $23, any idea what a taxi might cost?

If they are estimating an hour and a half from the airport to Poipu, it must be a shared ride, as that is much longer than it has ever taken us to get to Poipu.

Even if there are lots of taxis, a shared shuttle makes the most sense.

I would think a taxi (probably parked at the airport lineup) would or should only take about 30-40 minutes to drive down to Lihue.
