Karaoke around Zion?

Some friends and I are planning on celebrating our 30th birthdays together in Zion. We'll be staying in the nearby town of Springdale. I figure the proper way to turn 30 would be to get drunk and sing... badly. Anyone know if there are karaoke joints around that area?

Isn't Zion in Utah? It's all but impossible to get drunk there. They won't even bring you a beer if you still have a sip left in the one in front of you!

You can certainly drink in Springdale. But there is no karaoke. It is a very small and very quiet town. You can have wine or a drink w/dinner, or BYOB to your hotel (we did that and stayed in the separate 2 bedrm 2 story units w/living area in the back of Flanigans) but it is not a place to get drunk and party.

Maybe in St. George. But I would never drive the roads btwn St. George and Springdale after drinking anything.

One other thing people don't understand (or know) about UT liquor laws: you can actually bring your own, unopened bottle of wine into a restaurant (providing it has a state of UT seal on it) and they will open it for you (a corkage fee, which can vary). This is much, much less than paying restaurant prices by the glass or bottle! Yes, you certainly can drink in UT - I do it all the time!

Another thought on celebrating your 30th Bdays. How about doing something much more awesome than drinking and singing badly? How about climbing Angel's Landing and having a gourmet picnic celebration at the top. Now that will be memorable.

There actually is a place to do Karaoke in Springdale just outside of Zion. I know this because I was just there last week and there were flyers all over for it! There is a place called Jack's Social Club which is in the strip along with Switchback Grill that is beside the Best Western. They do karaoke every Friday night. You can call them at 435-772-3700 (option 3) if you need more details.

Thanks for all the info and suggestions. We do intend on doing some (sober) hiking as well, but it's nice to know there are a few things to do at night too!

Be sure to try some Polygamy Porter. Slogan: "bring some home to the wives."
