Kapalua, Kauai - pros and cons
We're considering staying in Kapalua in April of next year rather than our first thought - Ka'anapali. What are the pros and cons of Kapalua, especially at that time of year?
|
Sorry, I mean Maui!
|
We stayed in Kapalua on our honeymoon. It is much farther away from the attractions than Ka'anapali. It depends on what you are looking for I think. If you want to go out to eat every night then Ka'anapali is probably more convenient, but if you want to lounge around then Kapalua is great. Have you visited the GoHawaii.com website? There are lots of great things to do on Maui. Maui Island Plantation was a big hit for me.

we love the Kapalua area and its about 15 minutes south to Ka'anapali for the restaurants but there are some great ones up in the West area.
we always have breakfast at the Plantation house at the Kapalua clubbhouse for some of the best ahi benedict for cheap and no wait. down fall, is its at the far end of the island. |
I assume you are asking about Maui & not Kauai.
Kapalua is more scenic. It is also more rainy. Some scenic beaches there. There will be more nightlife in Kaanapali & Lahaina. Kaanapali is a little closer to get to get to Hana or Haleakala. April is a transition month when it comes to rain. It could be wet in April or it could be fairly dry.
