Kalapaki vs. Poipu Beach in Kauai

Is there any difference, climate or water-wise, b/n these 2 beaches for a Mid-late January stay?

Thanks!!!

I don't think there is any appreciable difference climate or water-wise between the 2 beaches, but there is a difference. Kalapaki is a bay, meaning that you do not face the open ocean. Kalapaki is the industrial port area of Kauai, where all the container and cruise ships dock. You won't see whales here unfortunately. I think the beach is nice enough, but I personally prefer Poipu Beach area, open ocean, whales, occasional monk seals sunning on the beach.
