Kahala Mandarin Comments?

I'm planning two or three nights in Honolulu and I'm wondering if the extra expense for the Kahala is worth it? Anyone stayed there recently? Other choices include the newly renovated Marriott or the Royal Hawaiian?

Brent

I have not stayed at the other ones that you mentioned recently, but I think that the Kahala Mandarin is worth it because it is on the other side of Diamond Head and is much more secluded than most of the hotels in the Waikiki area (private beach, etc.). You definitely feel like you are getting away from the crowds. It would be my first pick on Oahu. Hope that helps!

We stayed there last year and LOVED it! We've been to Hawaii many times, and have stayed at a variety of hotels, and this is our favorite. The rooms are big and beautiful, the location is off the beaten path (but within a short drive to Waikiki), and the restaurants and entertainment were great. If you want to be right in the middle of things, stay in Waikiki, but if you want something special, splurge at the Kahala Mandarin.

Splurge on the Kahala. It doesn't get any better than that hotel

Third opinion- you must stay at the Kahala Mandarin. It's fantastic!!

How much do the rates vary at this property? We are going to the islands in September and I am hoping to wait it out for a "deal". What are the chances? None of the discount websites seem to offer this hotel.
