Kaanapali Ali'i Condo report
Hi, we just returned from 8 days at the Kaanapali Ali'i condo on Maui. We paid $380 per night for 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms, full kitchen and living areas. It included laundry facility in the unit which was very handy for the 6 of us. The master suite was separated from the rest of the unit by the entry and was private. The second bedroom had two queen beds and a TV and phone. The third bedroom, technically a "den" had sliding doors that closed it off but it wasn't as private. The couches folded out also but we didn't use that. The unit we stayed in faced the ocean and the pool and we had lovely views at dinner of people surfing and playing on the beach.

The complex includes valet parking, help with your bags and groceries (I appreciated that when I arrived with the little kids, baggage and groceries from Costco), exercise room, tennis courts, pool, kiddy pool and jacuzzi.

We rented through Maui Beachfront Rentals but other units can be obtained through Class Resorts.

In summary, we were thrilled with the condo. It was quiet, private, offered all the services we needed, was situated perfectly and offered our family a wonderful vacation.

wow. I was just reading about this condo in "Maui Revealed" (great guide!!) and I narrowed down my choices to THIS condo. Went to Fodors to read some reviews, and your post was at the top! Must be fate.
How was the beach there? Pool? Is there a restaurant, and are there some fairly close? Nice sunsets? Aloha!
Thanks!

beach: right in front, soft sand, lovely gentle surf. Pool: one for adults, one for the kids, a jacuzzi.
No restaurant but you are a short walk from the Marriott, Westin and Sheratons all of which have several choice restaurants. We enjoyed walking to dinner, having a few drinks without concern for getting in a car afterwards. Gorgeous sunsets! We loved it!

Mommar,
Thanks for the info. I am going to be there from Feb 15 to 22. First time there. Looking forward to it.

Hey Beachkomer,

The Kaanapali Ali'i is also very close to Whalers Village which has restaurants and shops. The Hula Grill and barefoot bar is a fun spot but there is other dining also. At the Marriott we had two outstanding dinners at Va Bene. We saw several really terrific sunsets when we stayed in Kaanapali.

Have a great time!!!

Mommar, How was the weather during your stay? We have been to Maui a few times but never in the "winter''. We are heading to the Sheraton Maui Feb. 15 for the week.
Did you try any great restaurants or activities you'd recommend?
Thanks for any help.

We had mostly low to mid 80 degree temps with one day where we had light to moderate rain until noon. We drove up past Kapalua that day to see the blowhole. It was windy but dry up there. We ate a nice italian dinner at Va Bene but mostly just went for drinks at the Westin bar (name escapes me) and the Japanese restaurant above the Va Bene at the Marriott. With the condo having a full kitchen and since we were travelling with the family, we ate almost all the meals there!

Activities? Snorkeling, whale watching cruises, surfing lessons, sunbathing and swimming! We also did the road to Hana and enjoyed the novelty of swimming under waterfalls and climbing around in pools. My 8 year old left her sneakers at one waterfall, when we returned nearly 6 hours later they were still there! Gotta love Hawaii!
