I would definitely choose the Hyatt over the Whaler. There is really no comparison between the two. The Whaler is nowhere near as nice as the Hyatt. They are not in the same league in my opinion. We have stayed at the Hyatt 3 times and have walked past the Whaler numerous times. You really cannot compare them.

I agree - you can't compare them because the Hyatt is a hotel & the Whaler is a condo property. Depends if you want to pay big bucks for a nice hotel room, which after all is just a room or have a condo with kitchen, washer/dryer. etc. I've stayed at the Hyatt once, and would never stay there again. I've stayed at the Whaler once & would definitely stay there again. All depends on what you prefer.

I would go with whichever one I could get a better deal on. I mean obviously you don't want to go cheap, but I wouldn't want to go for an overpriced fancy hotel. Did you really fly all this way to Hawaii to waste your day away in a hotel room? I would think you would be spending very little time in your room and instead be out and expoloring the beauty.

Tammy, the Hyatt is a high end hotel, The Whaler is a condo complex. Not a valid comparison, you need to decide which category you prefer then narrow down the choices. I'm sure the Hyatt is wonderful but personally I prefer the flexibility & privacy of a condo, just my opinion. Happy planning !
