Just One More Directions Question
The last leg of this year's New England road trip, before heading home, will be Portsmouth, NH to Bennington, VT.
Yahoo gives 3 options: NH 9 W, I 495 S, or NH 101W. As usual, I'm looking for the most scenic. Or if you have other suggestions, please fire away. TIA |
101 is a pretty trip through classic small towns and villages AFTER Manchester. The first part is a slog because of development.
101 will eventually join 9 to cross the river, then 9 is a straight shot to Bennington. You have a loooong climb out of Brattleboro with spectacular views which are unfortunately behind you in the direction you have just come. Take advantage of pullovers to look. They are Worth It. |
Thanks very much, Ackislander! I'll definitely take advantae of the pullovers.

I think maybe Portsmouth to Concord via route 4, then 202 and route 9 would be the nicest and only add about 15 mins to the trip. Hopefully Dfrost will chime in as she knows the nooks & crannies of that area, a good lunch stop etc.
