Just got back from Lago Mar
...and had a few observations. We really liked the resort, people were friendly and courteous and it was great being on the beach. Our suite was spacious, but the tv reception kept fading in and out. Also, I didn't think charging people $10/day for a beach chair was right. I suggested they bump up the daily rate so you don't feel nickel and dimed over a chair.

We ate at Mark's Las Olas, Blue Moon Fish, and Sloppy Joe's. Mark's was outstanding, but somewhat overpriced. Blue Moon Fish was really great, especially the New Orleans firecraker oysters. Sloppy Joe's was enjoyable with a great beach view.

I would definitely go back. Any questions...?

We were @ Lago Mar around mid May for a week & our family loved it! ( No prob w/ TV reception!). We agree w/ above poster
regarding the beach chair rentals but as it was/is sea lice season (very bad this year!) we did not go in the water.
We walked the beach but sat around the
pools instead of sitting on the beach.
( We have suggested in our comment that cell phone use.23age be banned around the pool area & so did a couple of other families we met. I have never seen so many cell phones....and it was constant....all day long, loud, intrusive & in your face. Guys if you must make that call to the office then please have the common courtesy to move our of earshot!!! One woman went on & on & on about her dog's toenails!!! I'm not making this up!)
About restaurants: Thanks for your suggeations. We will try them next visit.
We had superb meals @ the following:
1.Charlie's Crab on the intracoastal ( 1st left south of Oakland Park on A1A)
2. Louie Louie on Las Olas ( went ther twice....the kids loved it!)
3. Mark's Las Olas
4. Lago Mar Patio ( lamb chops, salmon,
shrimp.... all excellent)
We also went to 15th St. Fisheries & everyone in our party hated it! Slow, slow, slow....food was awful ( shrimp, pasta, salmon), decor dreary, big attitude from parking lot attendants to
reception to servers)
My husband and I just got back from the Lago Mar 3 weeks ago. Really liked the place. The beach had some seaweed but then it cleared up and was nice. The resturants were very good. Check in was a hassle. Out flight was early and we arrived at the hotel at 12 noon. They made no effort to get us in our room early. Finally after much complaining they gave us another room. The rooms are spacious and nice but how do you get an ocean front. They will not let you reserve at desk. We were basically told that you had to know someone to get that room. All and all other than check in we liked the resort. Oh yea!! Outrageous about the beach chairs ($10). We went at 8 am and just sat on any chair that was out there. In the afternoon we took a towel. Hawaii doesn't even charge that much daily for a beach chair.
Hi, I have reservations at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort in Ft Lauderdale and was going to change it to Lago Mar but not if I have to pay $10 a day for a beach chair! The Lago Mar Resort has a Great Rate Break going on with a 1 bedroom suite with a balcony and breakfast daily for $145 per night. That's better than the $168 per night I'm paying for Marriott Harbor Beach without breakfast included. Any
comments? Opinions? Should I stick
with the Marriott or go with Lago
Mar? Thanks.
