Just back from Kauai & BI
I returned June 1st from a week on Kauai and a week on the Big Island. Am working on a detailed trip report but very busy at work and home. Hope to post soon.
If you have specific questions, ask away. Betty in Toronto |
Which island was your favorite and why? We are planning the same itinerary for next summer.
|
Aloha Betty! We too live in Toronto, and have a trip planned for October of this year, to Maui, Kauai and the BI. This will be our first to Kauai, not so with the other two islands. We are busy watching the fares, hoping to get a seat sale. What did you pay to fly out of Toronto, and how did you find your fares? Mahalo!

Looks like I'm going to Kauai next month and would love to know where you ate and what was yummy! Did you go to Allerton gardens?
|
iamq, poking my head in to say that my sister went to Allerton Gardens about a year ago. She said they were very nice, but disappointing after the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens on the Big Island. (Hope nobody misses the latter if they're on B.I.)

Sorry for the delay in getting back to everyone. Catching up with a neglected lawn & garden at home and work has been very busy. My trip report should be ready in a day or two.
Here are the answers to everyone's questions: Ashley24 - my favourite island was the Big Island. We stayed in Puna, which turned out to be the wrong side for us. Too much rain!!! We ended up driving to the sunny west coast 4 out of our 6 days. pinnacle - we used Continental airmiles for flight to Hawaii (via Hong Kong) and then American Airlines airmiles for the inter-island flights. (Half the points than Continental). iamq - We were at a B&B and ate in alot. We did a Sushi dinner @ Kintaro in Kappa'a and it was okay, nothing special. We did do the Friday Night Seafood Buffet at the Princeville Hotel and loved it! Got a table on the lanai and it was so quite and romatic. Pricey for a Canadian but felt it was worth it. |
