Just back from 2 weeks in Alaska!!!
 

Just got back from 2 weeks in Alaska. We took a one week land tour along with a one week inside passage cruise. Even though the cruise sights were great, I'm glad we decided to go with the 7 day land package as well. We even decided to do some tours on our own which ended up as the highlights of our trip. Also,if you get the chance try to go to Kenai. If anyone has any questions,I might be able to help, just ask.

Which cruise line did you use? I am thinking of an inside passage cruise in 1-2 summers. How far in advance did you book? Did you fly in/ out of the same city, how did you make your air fare arrangements?

This is in response to sammie's questions. We went with the Princess line, I felt they were the most experienced with Alaskan cruises. I made my plans about 6 months in advance, but I would sugguest a year if you want a particular room or side of the ship. If you can try to get on the port side and get a balconey. I went with a travel agent because I tied it in with a business convention and flew into a different city then I left. I also went with Princess escorted package and was delighted we did. They took care of everything so you could just sit back and enjoy. Hope I was able to be of some help.

Hello Eileen! <BR>Sounds like you had a great time! Maybe you can help us plan. - We will be taking the Fox National Park cruise at the Kenai Fjords, and have a second day in Seward free. Hello Carole: <BR> <BR>We took the Kenai Fjords 6 hour cruise out of Seward and it was great, we had the chance to see a lot of wildlife and glaciers up real close. Sounds like it is the same tour, I'm sure you will enjoy it. Sorry but there isn't much to the town, not sure if any other tours leave from there. In Denali the highlight of our trip was air plane ride to the base camp of Mt. Mc Kinley. We actually landed at the camp and got to talk and take pictures with some of the hikers. We did this on our own, the others who did a flight trip tour through Princess only flew over the base camp.You can e mail me directly if you are interested and want more information.
