Juneau to anchorage

Hi
We are planning to go to alaska for 8-9 days (actu from 22june - 1st july)No tkts booked yet.I was thinking a cruise out of seattle but having been to crusies before I feel it might be better to just fly to alaska and stay there for ard 8 days..

Any suggestions on itinerary ..we will probably reach 22nd night and will fly back on 1st ..shd I fly to anchorage and return from Juneau and take a train in btw Juneau and anchorage or just keep to one part of Alaska..

Whihc is better ..seward..denali..fairbanks etc
or
Ketchiken ,juneau, skagway etc where all ships go to..
Any suggestions are welcome..

Thanks

A train between Juneau and Alaska would be great, if it weren't for the fact that there are no roads, let alone tracks, into Juneau from anywhere.

Transport between Juneau and Anchorage can involve (a) a rather lengthy and urpy ferry ride, or one of several daily flights.

If you're planning for this June 22, you better get a move on.

Cruises from Seattle don't go to southcentral Alaska - Anchorage, Seward, etc. - just round trips to southeast Alaska. For a cruise to get you to southcentral, you need to take a one way cruise from Vancouver BC, then fly back (or v.v.)

Thanks..
its indeed THIS june..lol..late planning I know..

The cruises go to southeast alaska and it seems like it is essential for alaska ..

I have only 8 days there..do u think its better just do either southeast or south central( and which is better?)

or can I squeeze both..
We are in early 30s..(me and DH)
Thanks

The one-way cruises start in Vancouver, travel through southeast Alaska, and end in either Seward or Whittier, both connected by road or rail with Anchorage. Then they turn around and go the other way.

Both they, and the round trip cruises from either Seattle or Vancouver, take 7 days, so if you only have 8 it seems a waste to travel to Anchorage only to get on a plane and fly home.
