Thanks Dayle,
good point about the backpacks. The cooler will still be handy for groceries/motel microwaves and cool drinks on our driving days. Anybody--thoughts on itinerary and also would the Antelope canyon tour be the one 'must do' for Page area if we are there just one night? |
My pictures of the area.

Utahtea,
THANKS so much for all the wonderful pics to peruse! That Colorado River float trip looks very inviting--we're not great at signing up and getting out there on 'organized activities' but that one looks quite worth it? If only one night in Page is that doable? Do you need to sign up ahead online or such or just 'show up'? Thanks again. |
Hi Maw,
I'm sorry, I guess I didn't play fair with the link to my pictures...LOL! We're not big on organized trips either, but sometimes to get to a special area you have no other choice. We all loved that float trip, it was a great experience! As far as the cost goes, it's very reasonable per person, for what you get. If you do the morning float trip that starts at 7 A.M. and returns to Page, AZ by 1:30...you could easily make Bryce or Zion Canyon on that same day. If you have a specific day and want a specific time, like the morning float tour, I'd call a couple of weeks before you leave and reserve your float trip. We were in the area for a week and were open to several different days, but we got the time & day we wanted by just calling a couple of days ahead. Utahtea |
Hello again, maw-
Another suggestion: We bought a big soft-sided cooler, which was a godsend for keeping groceries and leftovers cool at those lodgings that didn't have minifridges (but they had ice machines). Then for the plane trips, we just folded it up and stuck it in a suitcase. |
PortiaLucy-
What a GREAT idea!! Thanks, Maw |
The itineraries suggested in this discussion sound great. Would you think that doing the itineraries in early April would be too cold?
Would any of the places be closed? How would you change the itinerary given the earlier date? Thank you. |
