John Wayne to DL transportation question

I've been to Disneyland/Anaheim scads of times but always had a car. In a couple of weeks I'm staying at the Grand Californian for 2 nights and I'm not planning on going to the beach or into LA or anyplace I didn't plan on renting a car. I figure DL/CA/Downtown Disney or nearby shopping on the shuttle buses would fill the 2+ days so why rent a car.

I see on the SNA website the resort shuttle runs hourly - and knowing my luck I'll get there 2 minutes after one leaves. I assume a cab would cost a bundle -- anyone know about how much?

I generally avoid supershuttle from an airport but is this a case where it makes sense? Lots of passengers likely heading to the Harbor blvd hotels so would shuttles fill up quickly??

Guess I'm just trying to decide if I shouldgo ahead and rent a car/

Thanks for advice/suggestions.

Prime Time Shuttle is $15.00, pretty dependable, and you can reserve online or just hail them down if you miss the Disneyland Express. Both circle frequently and you should have no problem, especially the week before Christmas which is pretty slow for them.

I was there last month and took the Super Shuttle to a Harbor Blvd hotel - Hyatt I believe. Super easy. Left right after we got there. There were 3 of us in the van. Going back to the airport there were a few more. No other stops. $9.00 one way. It’s just right outside the terminal- easy to find.

OTOH friends took a different bus that went over to Dland. They had to get off that bus & onto another one which waited around. So I don't think that the dedicated Dland buses are that great.

I made online reservation so they were expecting me. I don't think we waited more than a few minutes.

I've been happy with prime time shuttle so far. www.primetimeshuttle.com

Thanks guys. I'll look into primetime too. But their website doesn't really explain - is it a go-when-the-van-is-full-enough service like Supershuttle, or is it a timed schedule like the hourly Resort shuttle?

It looks like Primetime vans circle the airport - so how do they get passengers all going to the same area? Are they designated for specific destinations?
