Joe Torre's Vacation- Any Recommendations?
Joe Torre unexpectedly begins vacation today. Due to the surprise vacation, Joe Torre has not planned ahead for his vacation. Does anyone have recommendations?

I don't know, but I hear the city of Boston is nice this year. He might even be able to take in a baseball game while he is there. Or perhaps he can tour Southern California in between filming Visa commercials.

I think Joe needs some time to unwind and get away from it all. Maybe he could spend some time at a nice mountain commune where he could meditate, get back to nature, maybe make some pot holders and beaded CHOKERS... oh sorry.
Or maybe he could go back to school, learn a new trade like being a teacher, librarian or how about he becomes an EMT. That way he could learn the Heimlich maneuver and rescue CHOKING victims!

Though I was rooting Red Sox, Joe Torre was a great baseball player, although not up to Hall-of-Fame standards. As Torre has shown himself to be an excellent manager, he definitely has my humble endorsement for enthronement into the Hall of Fame. I posted this thread only in fun.

Wow, attacking Torre now. Nothing like playing with Karma, hah.
The Sox loss in the 1975 Series can be in part tied to Darrell Johnson's decision to bring in 25 year old, untested rookie Jim Burton in Game 7 with the score tied in the top of 9th - mind you after his only other appearance in that Series came in Game 3 (where I believe he lasted less then an inning) - where he promptly gave up the Series winning run.
You're all familiar with othre "historical" moves made by Zimmer, McNamara, and Grady Little that can directly be tied to a major disappointment.
Until, TODAY, Boston sports talk wanted Francona, sorry, Fran"coma" I believe was the name I heard, bounced.
So, what do you guys do - you go after the Yankee manager and make sport of him BEFORE the World Series even starts.

I've been calling Tito "Francoma" for sometime now. No one is more amazed than me that he managed our bullpen right. But there is no way that he'll pull a Grady Little. He likes his job too much. If anything he'll pull someone out too early.
No one is a better manager than Joe - I wish he was ours. The guy is such an ambassador for baseball. But I still can't help poking some fun.

Bennie, were you watching game 5?
Pedro hit the 100 pitch mark in the 6th. Guess what happens - he gives up 3 runs on a few walks and a couple of hit batters. Had Gordon not imploded in the 8th, that decision to keep Pedro in for more then 100 ptiches (when BTW his BAA goes over .300) would have been skewered by Sox fans.
