JFK- from Terminal 4 to Terminal 7?
 

Hi,
Could someone pls help dishing out some advice.
I am arriving at T4, but need to head to T7 to fetch my mum, we will be taking different flights from different countries.
Ffirst time in NY for both of us, mum does not speak much
English, a little concerned she might get lost, hence decided to fetch her at her terminal, and clear custom together.

My questions:
1. The best way to do that
2. Do i need to pick up my luggage at T4, cleared the custom, before I can make my way to T7?

The Inner Loop of the Airtrain will take you from terminal to terminal for free. Unfortunately you must clear customs before taking the Airtrain.

You can meet her right outsite T7 customs, but not before. Also, you cannot use cell phones before you leave customs, so do not expect to reach her while she's in line.

Everybody needs to pick up luggage before clearing customs.

You cannot clear customs together. You go through Immigration, pick up luggage and clear customs before you enter the US (where the air train is - landside). Sorry - there is no way for you to get in to help her clear anything - nor reach her by phone.

At JFK there is no airside transit between terminals for passengers.
