JetBlue is like Spirit or comparable to Delta

Earlier i had asked the same question about Frontier airline.

Now i need to know whether JetBlue is similar to the budget airline Spirit or it is a better and moderate airline like Delta

thanks

I've only flown it a couple times and it was fine. I'm not sure in what way you are asking about though. For pricing, just compare prices with whatever add-ons. Maybe I'm not that picky, but I don't find airlines that different in other ways for short trips.

But if I had to rate it, I'd say more like a moderate airline. There are only a couple airlines that are considered really below others in quality and experience in the US, I would probably name Spirit and Frontier in there, can't think of any others offhand.

In short, I wouldn't hesitate to book a Jetblue flight if the price and schedule suited me.

Jet Blue was fine for us on our recent Florida trip.

The leg room in economy was ample. We did carry-ons with no extra charge.

May I have few more feedback s

Also need to know following
1. I am flying to Miami but this flight is dropping me at FLL, would that be ok and easy and economical to reach South beach

2. While going through baggage condition I think it says that you need to buy the Check in baggage at the time of purchasing ticket whereas the normal practice is that you may buy online a coup,e of hours before your flight

Kindly advise

JetBlue was my favorite domestic airline. It recently acquired a new boss from a legacy airline and he has been changing the policies. Used to be you got one free checked bag and I think he has changed that. I think he is also gradually reducing the leg space. However, the service is excellent and the seats are more comfortable than most.

I haven't booked since the change of policy on baggage, but on most airlines it's cheapest to buy at time of purchase. If you know you will have a checked bag, why not?

I like JetBlue. I find it is a little better at customer service/relations than some others. In answer to above, there are 3 different price tiers now for the same seat. Cheapest - just the seat and carryon. Middle - a checked bag included (and price for that is less if you pay when booking ticket). Highest - checked bag, expedited boarding, etc. Difference in prices is $10-40 - not huge.

asimm/OP - your are going to Miami but took a flight to FLL? I might look at other flight options if you have not already booked. The distances between PBI (West Palm Beach), FLL, and MIA are relatively small and less than an hour to drive - but unless you are renting a car ground transportation can eat into any air savings.

The flight is about 80 days far, offcourse ill be having checked baggages but not sure whether 2 0r 3 (1 bag for each passenger)

Can't I buy it online 5-10 days before my journey at the same price as buying along with ticket

Jet Blue is one of my favorites. I do not put it in the class with the really "budget" airlines, like Spirit, Allegiant and such. I am very disappointed that Jet now charges for luggage. To be honest, not having to pay for luggage was a huge factor in me booking Jet Blue.

American airline basic ticket includes 1 checked baggage ?

thursdaysd Apr 16th, 2016 01:38 PM

No, a basic ticket does NOT necessarily include a free checked bag on DOMESTIC American flights (or most flights in Europe for that matter). Did you read the link I posted? If you have one bag per passenger that is the ticket you should buy.

I love JetBlue, even with their new regressive seating and baggage policies.

Why? Because they have incredible sales. Last year, I flew RT from Richmond to ?Boston for a medical visit for less than it would have cost by ferry and bus from my home.

As Gail says, staff at all levels seem to be genuinely nice people who actually care about customers.

asimm Apr 17th, 2016 02:58 AM

Thursdaysd yeah I checked the website and blue plus should be taken for 1 checked baggage

But with JetBlue I'LL be arriving at FLL instead of Miami airport so that would I guess incur $$70/ extra, pls comment

If you are going to Miami, then fly to Miami.

If you want to save money on baggage then you can get an airline affiliated credit card. I have both a AA and UA credit card and when I use those I get 1st bag free.

The OP is from Pakistan -- I doubt that is an option.

asimm: Your trip is already very complicated -- If Miami is where you want to go, just fly to Miami, no matter which airline you use. Pick one that flies from where you'll be to Miami and has the best fare/schedule.

And no, you do not want to wit until a few days before to book. Not only will fares likely be higher (or possibly MUCH higher) there is a chance the flights will be full and you won't be able to book at all.

asimm Apr 17th, 2016 06:18 AM

Yea am from Pakistan so making an airline card like AA for American would be any beneficial for 1 flight?

Yea Miami airport is the best option

I'LL be booking the flight in a few days but what's confusing me is that 'why can't I book checked bag gaged online few days before my departure'

thursdaysd Apr 17th, 2016 07:20 AM

Because you can't. Stop fighting the rules, which you can't change, and book a flight.

Thank you all

Are you hiring a car in Miami? If so, know that a LOT of highways charge tolls and do NOT collect cash. That means you need a toll tag of some sort.
