Thoughts on JetBlue...

The TVs are great, but when I flew there wasn't anyway to shut the darn thing off, or dim the one in the unoccupied seat next to me.

I found it difficult to sleep in the leather seat because I kept sliding around. It was a red eye, and I was counting on the sleep.

[/whinge]

The only true problem I ever saw was a plane that had been grounded in oakland due to a mechanical issue. They were having problems securing another plane to get the passengers from Point A to Point B.

No, I'm not overweight in the slightest. I just know that SWA's seats on their old configuration are wider, period. Their new configuration (the blue/gold interiors) have seats that are narrower and comparable to Jet Blue.

Best coach seats, (generally speaking because seat pitch varies from aircraft to aircraft) are on American. There really is more room in their coach section, can actually cross your legs without having to poke the back of the guy in front of you.

Just a quick clarification of JetBlue's southern California destinations: LAX is NOT JetBlue's airport here. It actually flies either into Ontario (some 45 miles to the east of downtown LA) or into Long Beach (30 miles south of downtown LA). Ontario is a modern facility kinda out in the sticks, while Long Beach is practically a municipal airfield-- the terminal dates from the 1940s, and you walk out onto the tarmac to board the plane (on those old air stairs), a quaint step back into the past.

Long Beach Airport is convenient to all of southern California, and getting in and out is a breeze compared to LAX. JetBlue is doing quite well there. The other airlines at Long Beach are American, America West and Alaska/Horizon.

We fly from JFK to Buffalo several times a year, as does our son, who attends college there.WE LOVE THIS AIRLINE! They make the whole experience a pleasure, from booking to boarding to the helpful and amusing staff. We just booked a non-stop round-trip to California (Long Beach Airport) that we save about $600 on by avoiding the major airlines into San Diego or LA, and couldn't get a non-stop for less than $1000 on them anyway.
