Ok so back to the original post question. I am from the area and can recommend several places. I would take them to Union Landing in Brielle. They have outside seating in the Marina and the kids will love to look at the boats. Try to get there early 5:00 or so, you can get a table. Also try The Wharfside in Point Pleasant if you have children another great outside local. Lots of big open spaces. Then you can take them over to the board walk. They also have a water taxi that goes between these two places that is very fun.
I wouldnt take kids to Harry's Roadhouse or expect to get in on a SAt. after like 4:00. The place always has a line around the corner. Rod's in Sea Girt is fine to take children, but again not the easiest place to get in on a Sat. in the summer or anytime actually. But they do have a bar to wait at. There is also a new restaurant in Asbury called Cafe Ole its getting rave reviews from all the paper and the Times. Speaking of Asbury Park. The company I work for is head of the development project in town, they have big plans and the rejuvination IS going to happen. We tend to eat in many of the restaurants in Bradley Beach since they seem to be less crowded and since we frequent them, we get great service. They have an incredible sushi/hibachi place on Main St. called Osaka at the Station, they have 2 hibachi tables and if your kids like that kind of food they will love sitting there and watching the little show. There are always kids there. You can reserve seats there, which is why we always go. Also there is Piancones in Bradley Beach, they have great food too, but I would go early with the kids before the couples come out for romance. If you are looking for a quick place to grab good food also try the Boat House in Belmar. They have a great menu and its not really a bar crowd on the weekends until about 9:00. I hope you have a great trip and enjoy all that we have to offer. Its the greatest place to live! JK |
Thanks for the ideas JK
