Jeep rides in Sedona

There are several venues that offer jeep rides. Are they all comparable, or do you get more for your money by paying more to go with the more well-known Pink Jeep company?

I've only done one ride and it was with Pink Jeep. I think a lot depends on the driver and their narrative. We had Hal (back in June 2004) and he was great. He knew a lot about flora and fauna. As we stood next to the canyon edge he noticed the other passengers were bothered by bugs so he took us to another area on Schnebly (name might be wrong but it's close) where we could make a short hike up some rocks for a nice lookout. He drove cautiously and I think we all enjoyed the ride.

There are several Jeep Companies all doing the same thing. The advantage of the Pink Jeeps is they have the "legal rights" to off road for more trips. There are many different jeep tours (look at their website or of their competitors). The "Broken Arrow" trip is the best.

Thanks, again, for the swift replies. It seems they are all about equally priced. Other companies seem to offer more tours with specific intents, such as, indian ruins, wildlife, etc. I think I just want one that does some 4x4 stuff into the red rock formations, not just an easy little drive thru the park kind of thing. I think that's what the Broken Arrow ride does, right?

Yes, Broken Arrow has some up and down "thrills". Rent or see the movie "Broken Arrow" with Jeff Chandler and Jimmy Stewart. It was filmed in Sedona and that's where the tour got its name. They run every hour or so but the popular times fill. If you have limited time, book ahead.

May I suggest Mike at www.southwestoutside.com
You will get a personal tour in an a/c SUV that is cleaner and much safer than the jeeps I saw. We did Snebley Rd at sunset and he took us up to a meadow to see deer . We went for walks when he had something for us to see ie varieties of cacti.
Trip was the highlight of Sedona for us
