Jazz Club in Manhattan
Hello,
I will be in NYC Aug 24th and I am looking for a place to listen to some jazz. We are looking for a smaller place where we don't have to buy a ticket. Cover charge and drink miniumum's are fine with us. Any suggestions? Susan |
I'm a fan of Terra Blues in the Village..may have a cover charge but it's not nearly the "production" that Blue Note can be.
|
Smoke jazz club and lounge, 2751 Broadway (Bd'way and 105th street) is out of the usual adress(Blue Note, iridium, village vanguard).
Music is often from quality. Website : www.smokejazz.com Erik. |
I like Birdland in midtown, I think it is around 45 and 8th. They have early sets, they have a good combo of local and national acts.
|
Cleopatra's Needle. They have a website. 90th & Broadway.
|
check out gothamjazz.com for listings of who's playing where.
The Garage in the Village, and the place at Blue Smoke (is that called Jazz Standard?) near Union Square are a couple of nice options too. |
Check the Village Voice and Time Out NY to see who is in town.
