Jarvis Hotel in Durango
Has anyone stayed at this hotel? any feedback would be greatly appreciated..

I have not stayed there, but it has a good reputation in Durango and is very well-located.

We were just there for 2 nights and were happy with it. It was in a very good location downtown. We had a studio room on the first floor that had a full(but small) kitchen. They offered free use of their washing machines, and that came in handy after being on the road for a week. The only drawback was that the only window looked out onto some small courtyard that was full of equipment or something that wasn't pleasant to look at, so we had the drape drawn the whole time and the room was a bit dreary.

Our family of 5 stayed there two years ago in August, and were very happy with the choice. We had a nice two-bedroom apartment, including kitchen (so we could eat breakfast at home), and with the Entertainment book rate, only paid about $100 per night (we booked quite far in advance). Hard to beat that much space for that price. Only "complaint" was train whistles woke us up earlier in the morning than we would have liked, but I assume that's a problem for most of Durango.

WE stayed there 1 week 3 years ago too and really liked it. No frills, not luxurious, but separate bedroom, clean, compact but comfortable and good location. Small hotel with personal service.

I loved the sound of newspaper delivery on the road in the morning but the train whistle did get old...I just pretended I was in the wild west.

Good for families, great central place to travel from.

I also used the entertain book and got a good rate.

Enjoy!!!

Let us know if the Durango Diner is still there...only order 1 pancake, they're huge.
