January 2004
Very general areas I know. Planning a 2nd honeymoon in January and the week at the beach fell through, so now am trying for a long weekend somewhere a bit warmer than KY. Thinking of New Orleans, Las Vegas, or San Antonio. Can anyone offer opinions/advice re: weather end of January? (Know it won't be warm but at least tolerable to walk around?!). Thanks.

San Antonio can be chilly in January, but it should be "tolerable" if you dress properly for it. Highs will likely be in the 50s that time of year.

Las Vegas in January is COLD. But you can keep warm in the casinos, shows or restaurants. But walking around outside gets quite chilly during that month.

I was in Las Vegas in early January last year and was hot! I'd taken sweaters and it was too hot to wear them. People were sitting outside eating like it was summer. I've also been in New Orleans in January and it can be really cold. You can check historic weather conditions at weatherunderground.com

Yeah, for January I'd definitely be heading to the Caribbean or to Mexico -- and even then, probably south of Mazatlan...

I went to New Orleans for New Year's several yrs and we had great weather - but I know you can't count on that. I think it is a very romantic city. Highly recommend a suite at Soniat House.
