Jackson lodging

We're planning a two week trip late June/early July to GTNP and Yellowstone. We prefer to stay in Jackson when we first arrive (we'll try a park lodging for Yellowstone). Most of the posts describe lodging in GTNP. Would appreciate reviews from anyone who has stayed in Jackson.

We stayed at Teton Village - which is a collection of condos, rented to skiers in-season, GTNP visitors in summer. We had 2 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen, balcony, LR,DR and a resident moose that ate shrubbery and other landscaping. Complex is huge, but not tacky. Housekeeping is twice/week. There are 2 restaurants on-property that we did not try. About a mile from GTNP and about 10 minutes from downtown Jackson. On property is tram for trip to top of mountain for nice views - can hike or ride down.

If you would like to get lodging in YS you need to start now, may be to late already. No matter where you stay in Jackson the tram ride is worth the time and effort.

We're doing a similar trip in August, in the backwards order of yours. I booked at the Flat Creek Inn in Jackson. <http://www.flatcreekinn.com>
I looked at a dozen or so inns and then went to Trip Advisor. Many posters liked this one-and the rates are very reasonable. It's right across the street from the elk refuge, about a mile from the town, looked up to date, and clean. We're staying after our week in Yellowstone, where we've already booked cabins (Lake Yellowstone and Roosevelt/Tower). How long are you planning to be in Yellowstone? Does anyone out there think a week in Yellowtone is too long?

Since you are staying at the Rustic Roosevelt a day trip over the Bear Tooth Highway and Red Lodge would be a diversion, it is just up the road thru the Lamar Valley and the NE entrance on US-212. We will be in the Park about the same time camping near by. Either the NP CG Pebble Creek or Soda Butte CG just east of Cooke City.

I have stayed at Spring Creek Ranch - right outside of town in Jackson - wonderful!!! Have also stayed at the Worth Hotel right in the center of town in Jackson - also loved this hotel!

It is the Wort Hotel in Jackson.

I second the Spring Creek Resort. I've stayed there about 3-4 times in the last ten years. Great place, with some breath taking scenery. Also, a very nice restaurant on-site. The only drawback is that it increases your drive time. It is about 15-20 minutes outside of town.

Soxgirl: We're staying 3 nites in Jackson (to see Grand Teton), then 3 nites in West Yellowstone, then 2 nites in the park at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel. Decided on the 49er Inn & Suites in Jackson.

And, KellyGreta, we switched to the Signal Mountain Inn (Lodge?) in GTNP. At this point, I only could get one night, but I'm periodically calling for a second. Again, posters here and TripAdvisor are mostly positive. As for Yellowstone, if you want to stay in the park, I heartily advise calling back because they get many cancellations.I'm sure we'll both have a fantastic trip, wherever we stay.

Hi KellyGreta,
We stayed at the Ranch Inn, one block from Jackson Square, and walked to everything. More details are in my trip report ~

We stayed at the Antler Inn I believe it was, seemed a teeny bit cheaper as it was off a side street, but a block or so from the square...

Wednesday: We're booked at the Antler Inn for our visit in two months time.....what can we expect? Thanks.
