Jackson Hole Lodging on a budget

I need a room in Jackson Hole for 1 night, I am looking at the Anvil, Motel 6, or the Elk Refuge Inn. I would like Air conditioning and tv and it to be under 200 a night. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I know hotels can change but we stayed one night in Jackson Hole 4 yrs ago at the Super 8 and found it to be clean with a light breakfast: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...e_Wyoming.html

Pony Express Motel, Cowboy village or the 49er. Elk Refuge would do in a pinch but skip the Anvil.

We stayed at the Motel Six last August for two nights. The room is very cramped. No closet, just hooks to hang some clothes. We had two beds and there was only about two feet between them. It might work for one night if you are just looking for a place to crash and go. We had a ground floor room and it was noisy because you could hear every step the people in the upstairs room made. Upstairs would probably be quieter. The cost was just over $100 dollars/night. It may be less during the winter.

Have you checked the Snow King? It's not right downtown, but it's a pretty easy walk into downtown. They run decent specials for under $200/night.

Here is a link to a picture of the room we had at the Motel 6 in Jackson. This was taken as I stood in the doorway, so you can see it is pretty tight quarters. The motel is a couple of miles from the Jackson city square so you have to drive and find parking.

We stayed at the Motel 6 in 2010 and it was fine for our needs.

It does look very small, I am worried the most about the shower. Not so much for myself the for my parents it might be too cramped. Though for 1 night we could probably survive. I haven't checked the Snow King, will look into it now. I saw the Pony Express but it had bad reviews I though on Yelp. I will relook at that one.

Pony Express is fine and gets very good reviews.

Kwheeleo, as I said, I have not been here for 4 yrs, but you might want to check on the Super 8. The room we had was spacious and clean.

Kwheeleo Feb 14th, 2014 04:40 PM

Thanks I will look at all of them, the only thing I am seeing about the PonyExpress is that the only rooms they have left are over 289 a night. That is probably more than we want to pay. I will check the Super 8 out

The Motel 6 bathroom is fine, unless your parents plan to share the shower. :-) You might want to check to see if they have a handicapped room available if you need extra bathroom space.

Have you tried looking at airbnb? I just stayed at a place in Denver pretty inexpensively, and I'll be staying at another place outside of Zion National Park in May. It's probably at least worth a look, depending on what you need.

Kwheeleo Feb 16th, 2014 01:33 PM

I am not sure what airbnb is but I will google it. Lee Ann, too funny, the photos just made the shower look so small but they are not handicapped in the slightest so they would be fine I think.

I am looking at the PonyExpress again but for the night they need all of the rooms under 250 are sold out. Hoping someone will cancel there.

Heart Six Guest Ranch offers nightly stays. Just around $200, I believe.

The Virginian is great--older but very serviceable. The Antler Inn and the Painted Buffalo Inn are also good and were the cheapest rates I saw in Jackson proper.

This thread is a year old, so I suspect the OP has taken their trip already.
