Jackson Hole in October

We are taking our first trip to Jackson Hole from Oct. 7-14. We are staying at the Cowboy Village and looking for tours of the parks. We found one called Yellowstone and GT Parks combined thru Jackson Hole Tours. Has anyone taken this 11 hour tour or have other recommendations. Also considering a balloon flight with Wyoming Balloon. Any suggestions welcomed.

melody,

Is there some reason you don't want to rent a car? Driving in this area is so easy and allows so much more freedom. I can't imagine taking a tour company to see these parks! Especially trying to "see" them both in 11 hours. More like 11 days! You have 7 that a good start. 1/2 day in Jackson, 2 days in Grand Teton, 4-5 days in Yellowstone = great trip.

Fall colors, chance of snow. Take warm layers including gloves, hat, heavy shoes/boots.

If you want to see anything you will need your own transportation. 11 hours in these two parks is but a blink of an eye.

For Yellowstone make sure you check the road conditions.

Thanks for the tips. We are visiting our daughter and will have use of her car. When I looked on-line it said many of the roads in the parks are closed to the public after Oct. 1st. so we thought driving ourselves might be limited.

Has anyone visited the Granite Hot Springs? Is that worth the drive?

Also, be aware of two potential weather situations:
1. Nights will probably be cold.
2. You very well might get snow!
